Senior internationally recognized thought leader and expert in Compliance. 30 years of experience as executive in multinational companies, currently Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at FERROVIAL. Formerly, Airbus Group Chief Compliance Officer. Extensive prior experience as General Counsel. Spanish national, resident in Paris from 2001 to 2015. Married, father of two University students.
In 2008, Pedro became the first Group Chief Compliance Officer of EADS (renamed AIRBUS in 2012) with the mission of designing and implementing a brand-new global compliance program. Pedro created the compliance function reporting directly to the CEO and to the Chairman of the Audit Committee. Until his departure he recruits and leads a team growing up to 100 professionals.
In 2018, Pedro accepted the offer by the Australian Fund Manager IFM to become independent Chief Compliance and Risk Officer of the newly acquired OHL Concesiones (renamed ALEATICA) to comply with FCPA and upgrade the ERM and Compliance system for the assets in Spain, Mexico and South America to meet the standards of the other assets in Australia, Western Europe and the US.
In September 2019, he joins FERROVIAL to upgrade the Company’s ERM and Compliance systems to meet the highest international standards in those jurisdictions where the Company operates (US, Canada, Australia, UK).
Pedro writes and teaches on Compliance topics. He is a Professor Adjunt of Compliance at IE Law School, where he was a member of the jury for the 10th Annual Award José María Cervelló on Compliance (2016). He is a frequent speaker to international conferences, such as the 2018 OECD High Level meeting in Lima. He was a member of the first editorial board of the Journal of Business Compliance. Among his articles and interviews on business ethics and compliance: the chapter on Spain in Antikorruptions - Compliance Busch / Hoven / Pieth / Rübenstahl; contributions to the ICC Ethics and Compliance Training Handbook, to the ICC Manual RESIST and to the collective work Compliance sin Fronteras.

En septiembre de 2019, se incorpora a FERROVIAL para actualizar los sistemas de ERM y Compliance de la Compañía para cumplir con los más altos estándares internacionales en aquellas jurisdicciones donde la Compañía opera (EEUU, Canadá, Australia, Reino Unido).
Pedro escribe y enseña sobre temas de Compliance. Es profesor adjunto de Compliance en IE Law School, donde fue miembro del jurado del X Premio Anual José María Cervelló sobre Compliance (2016). Es ponente habitual en conferencias internacionales, como la reunión de Alto Nivel de la OCDE de 2018 en Lima. Fue miembro del primer consejo de redacción de la revista Journal of Business Compliance.
