Philip Whiteley
Philip Whiteley is an experienced business author and journalist, with considerable international experience, in a career spanning more than 30 years, mostly in the field of leadership and organizational development. Since 2021 he has written articles on human rights and whistleblowing, for Byline Times and on the Westminster Confidential blog edited by former Guardian political correspondent David Hencke.
He is an approved supplier for the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) based in Lausanne Switzerland, appointed as author for the institute’s publication to mark the 50th anniversary of its MBA in 2022. In much of his work he acts as editorial consultant and writer, collaborating with senior academics and consultants.
His pioneering work New Normal, Radical Shift (Routledge 2013, co-author Neela Bettridge) articulates a critique of conventional economic and business theory, and sets out an alternative, emphasizing sustainability and employee welfare. The self-published book Meet the New Boss was shortlisted for the 2011 Chartered Management Institute-British Library Management Book of the Year Award, Digital Book category.
He is a co-founder of United Ghostwriters, and a member of the Society of Authors. He has three novels published, and received a cover quote and commendation from Captain Corelli author Louis de Bernières. Philip has a good command of written and spoken Spanish, with a Diploma Letter of Credit from the Institute of Linguists.
